Coordination in Games

[ publications ]

We investigate how players communicate and coordinate in games. A core part of this is the Cooperative Communication Mechanics framework, which identifies the ways in which designers use game mechanics to enable players to share information. Other work includes the Team Coordination Game, as well as work with dyads coordinating with references in Portal 2. Upcoming projects look at how players plan joint activity.
